Yhteiskunta tukee ihmisiä erilaisissa elämäntilanteissa erilaisin tuin ja etuuksin. Tukien hakeminen ja myöntäjä vaihtelevat tukimuodon mukaan. The social and health services provided by the wellbeing services county of Southwest Finland offer preventive services and services such as research, treatment, family and rehabilitation services to the people of the area.

The Southwest Finland Emergency Services are responsible for rescue services in the whole county, the 27 westernmost municipalities and the archipelago.

Varha is responsible for organizing social and health services and rescue operations from January 1, 2023. The county is made up of 27 municipalities, a hospital district, special care services and rescue services.
