County elections 2025
County and municipal elections will be held for the first time at the same time. The combined elections will be held on Sunday 13 April 2025. In these elections, you will have a vote on matters that are important to all of us and have an impact on our everyday lives. In the county election, you will decide on the future of social welfare, health care, and rescue services in Southwest Finland.
You can vote in both elections at once. The ballot papers can be distinguished by colour: With the purple ballot, you can vote in the county election.
How the County Council works
In the county election, you will elect councillors to the county councils responsible for organising social welfare and health care as well as rescue services. Thus, as a voter, you have a say in how these services in Southwest Finland work.
79 councillors will be elected to the Southwest Finland Regional Council to exercise the highest decision-making power in the wellbeing services county. They will decide, for example, on local services and the makeup of the service network, such as the location of health and social services centres and the services they provide.
Who can vote?
The Southwest Finland wellbeing services county consists of the municipalities of Aura, Kaarina, Kemiönsaari, Koski Tl, Kustavi, Laitila, Lieto, Loimaa, Marttila, Masku, Mynämäki, Naantali, Nousiainen, Oripää, Paimio, Parainen, Pyhäranta, Pöytyä, Raisio, Rusko, Salo, Sauvo, Somero, Taivassalo, Turku, Uusikaupunki, and Vehmaa.
Residents of the above-mentioned municipalities can influence the social welfare and health care services and rescue services in their area by voting for the candidate they consider to be the best in the regional elections or by standing for election themselves.
